Miss K Boudoir Session Recap | Columbus Ohio Boudoir Photographer
I had been talking with Miss K for nearly a year about her boudoir session, due to COVID we rescheduled twice, so by the time she came into the 614 Boudoir studio, I knew her like a friend- I was so excited for her! Her session and images turned out SO GOOD- and she has graciously allowed me to show you a few of her favorites and also tell you about her experience with me. Read about it below!
What motivated you to do a session?
I was looking for a way to feel better about myself. It was an impulse at an event where there was a Black Friday deal. One of those things that I started having buyers remorse after I signed the contract. However, it was meant to be - with the COVID delays I ended up feeling my best when I went in for my shoot.
Are these photos for you, or a gift for someone?
A bit of both. For me originally, but with having to reschedule due to COVID now they ended up in time for my anniversary.
Before your session, what were you most nervous about?
I was most nervous about how I would look, the image I had in my head vs. what I would see in the photos. I knew I wouldn’t look like many other women that I had seen in the Facebook VIP group, but I was looking at their finished (and beautiful) photos!
What was your favorite part of the experience?
Just how easy it was to start to relax. Kristin and her glam team chatted away as I got ready. We started with the least-revealing of the outfits and worked our way towards fewer and fewer clothes!
Where did you shop for your outfits?
We ended up using things I already owned. I brought a variety of things from Victoria’s Secret and stores online. Kristin immediately spotted a theme and we went with it!
After the shoot how did you feel?
I was feeling really good and really sassy! I even took a quick selfie of my face/hair makeover since I felt like my best self.
What was your initial reaction to your images?
It was a mix of seeing the flaws and seeing beauty. It was wonderful to see my face, body and attitude relax and become more fun, playful and sexy from first photo to last. Also since you only pick so many photos you can skip the ones that you don’t find appealing (in your mind!).
Did anything change about how you see yourself?
I definitely feel that I am more beautiful and sexier than any image I had in my head. I also realize what is flattering on me AND what photo poses are flattering (where you put that chin!). I’ve also been sharing the process with my teenage daughter - focusing on body acceptance. She saw my pictures and immediately said I looked like a “badass”! I was surprised but that’s how I was feeling!
Now that you've had your session what would you go back and tell yourself to calm your nerves, inspire or empower yourself?
You are in a safe space to feel like your most empowered self. Have fun with it!
Any advice for someone who might be considering a shoot?
Do it! Even if you never share the photos, returning to the images will propel you to feel great even on your worst days!
