Client Interview: Miss C | Boudoir Photography Columbus Ohio
After every boudoir photo shoot, I ask clients a few questions about their experience with me so that I can share with you. As a boudoir photographer, I think it is important for my clients to hear from more than just me about such a delicate and vulnerable experience. So here is Miss C’s perspective for you.
What motivated you to do a session? Are these photos for you, or a gift for someone?
It's a gift for my soon to be husband. I had seen the books given to the groom for his wedding gift. They are for my husband but for me also. It's good to feel beautiful and Kristin really captures that.
What was your favorite part of the experience?
The overall experience honestly. The girls are so sweet, you get dolled up, and you bring your own ideas and clothes so that helps. Then she puts the pictures on the TV so you're not viewing them on a small screen. I think my favorite though if I had to choose would be the viewing of the photos because you don’t think you can look THAT good. I am extremely ecstatic for my husband to be to see the book.
Where did you shop for your outfits?
I looked everywhere and I ended up finding a simple oversized black shirt in my closet and then a Jean jacket I hadn't worn since last fall. But that jacket ended up being my favorite out of the three.
After the shoot how did you feel?
I felt sexy. My eyes and cheekbones are amazing, viewing the images make you feel like "wow, that's me?".
What was your initial reaction to your images?
Wow. The makeup looks amazing on camera. She knows what she’s doing!
Did anything change about how you see yourself?
I've begun to not care about the weight I've gained from having two beautiful babies. My fiance doesn’t care, he just wants me happy. Even though I haven’t felt great about my body in a long time I'm learning to love it as it is while continuing to try to take care of it. Baby steps. So while I didn’t love the pictures of my flaws I know that I'm loved and I love how the pictures make you feel. Plus I know my husband will just love it so much.
Now that you've had your session what would you go back and tell yourself to calm your nerves, inspire or empower yourself?
I was already working on loving myself. So the session just enhanced that for me. So I would come in a little more open-minded. I had no idea that the pictures would turn out amazing I was just hoping I got a couple good shots in.
Any advice for someone who might be considering a shoot?
If you're not feeling great about yourself schedule a shoot to feel amazing. Take the day to pamper yourself then come in to get dolled up and captured for your beautiful self. Honestly if I was single I would do this too. The entire experience just boosts your view on yourself. Take 4 hours out of 1 day to love yourself and it will come naturally once you view the images. It could also be used for motivation and help you reach that next goal.
