Investing in your session | Columbus boudoir photography

Here’s one thing I know for a fact. If you clicked onto this blog, you are at least somewhat interested in a session, and you’re probably wondering how to make it happen. I fully believe every woman deserves this decadent experience and that YOU are worthy of feeling so fierce. I want to make the process as accessible as possible for you.
First of all, I want you to understand why I say investing. When you leave my Columbus boudoir studio, you will have had an experience, not just a photo shoot. You start the process with me on the phone or through email, planning your unique session. We talk about wardrobe pieces to flatter your body, we discuss your hair and makeup looks, I want to know how you want this session to make you FEEL. Then when you come in, I put a glass of champagne in your hand and then you’re pampered by the glam girls. I help you into your outfits, making sure every strap is tightened and not twisted, that you’re tags are tucked in and your stockings are even. Then I guide you through every pose, demonstrating myself, and giving you point-by-point coaching until you look perfect. During the shoot I’ll be complimenting you, reminding you how beautiful you are, and snapping those incredible photos. On the very same day, after a short coffee or lunch break you get to see all of your photos and choose your favorites.
Now I know, you’re wondering, what’s this going to cost? But I want you to remember that boudoir sessions have the power to change how you feel about yourself for a lifetime. So now that we have that expectation set, we can talk about the investment.
The session fee is $299. This includes all of the things I detailed above. Wardrobe assistance, posing assistance, hair and makeup styling, and a 1 hour shoot, which is 3 outfits. Images are not included in this fee, but are sold separately either a la carte, or in collections. Products range from $499-$4500. So now that you have an idea of what to expect, here are some ideas of how to save, so that when you’re ready to schedule you can get exactly what you want without stress.
Set up a separate account- Create a savings account and transfer money into that account each week. Better yet, set up an auto transfer so you don’t even miss it. Even $20-50 each paycheck will add up quite quickly.
See where you can trim your budget- Simple switches like opting for water while out to eat, or using those fuel points can leave more money in your wallet for saving. A few months ago we realized just how many subscriptions {Ipsy, Birchbox, Hulu, Netflix, CBS All Access, Spotify, Sirius Radio} we had going that were unnecessary, and cut a few out saving us nearly $100 a month.
Use the 24 hour rule- I use this when online shopping, put everything you want in your cart, and then leave the tab for 24 hours. When you come back, take another look. Do you really need that sweater, or those jeans? If so, get what you need, or really want, then ditch what you can live without. Also, many of those companies have automated emails that will get you 15% off if you’ve abandoned your cart because they want your business, take advantage!
Treat yourself efficiently- Say your typical splurge is a Friday drive through Starbucks, and your usual iced coffee is $2.95 (mine is, venti iced coffee with SF vanilla and heavy cream). Go ahead and get your coffee, and then also transfer $2.95 to your boudoir bank account I mentioned above. If you can’t afford to do both, maybe skip the coffee. Or you could get a $1 coffee at McDonalds and put the other $1.95 in your boudoir bank account.
Opt for a payment plan- I offer payment plans to all of my clients, no interest, equal payments up to six months and I make this super easy too, just decide what dates the payments will be withdrawn and put a card on file. Once your order is paid in full, your products will be delivered.
Use Paypal Credit- I also accept Paypal Credit as a form of payment. If you’ve never used this, you can apply HERE to see if you’re elligible, and then you can use that to pay for your session fee or products. The exciting part of Paypal Credit is there is no waiting for your products, you can have them in hand within a few weeks!
