When I started photographing boudoir almost 8 years ago, I knew it was about more than just photos. I wanted to empower women. My sessions became about the experience and building up each woman and couple who came to my Columbus boudoir studio. I quickly realized though, I can’t photograph everyone, and I want to make an impact on how women interact with one another, how we support each other and how we see ourselves. So the VIP group was formed.
I created a private, female-only group on Facebook as a place where we could uplift one another, get advice about intimate topics from others, and if women were considering a session they could ask questions, get inspiration, and get to know me. Not only does the group foster those opportunities, it far exceeds my original plans. I’ve seen women make friends, get support when they’re going through a separation, infertility, and sexual abuse recovery. I’ve seen women open up about their confidence journey, weight loss, and sexual exploration. I’ve been given so much love and support as well. The group is truly invaluable to me.

When I invite people to join a group I typically message them and let them know why I think they would like it. I know that makes a difference to me when I’m invited to join a group.
